Visiting

It's been almost a week since my daughter and I went to visit Campbell University. When we were on campus I was so excited for my daughter. She has worked so hard to get into a good school and is becoming such an amazing young lady. During our tour of Campbell University my daughter made the comment that the school felt like home to her. It was at that point that I told her she needed to have Campbell as her first choice school.

We came home to find an acceptance letter in the mail from my daughter's second choice school. With the letter of acceptance was a scholarship notice. She had received a presidential scholarship. Words can't describe how proud I was of all that she has accomplished so far.

One thing that has been a struggle in deciding which school to go to, is living on campus or continuing to live at home. After our visitation to Campbell University my daughter has decided to live on campus. A decision I agree with, but is still difficult for me.

When I think about her moving out I start to tear up. How on earth did we get to this point? The years went by way to fast. There are so many things I want to teach her and protect her from. When I look at her I still see a toddler walking around my house or a kindergartner going off to her first day of school.

Before I know it I will be sitting at graduation watching her cross the stage. Then we will be packing her up to go to school. Then comes parent visitation day at her college. Gosh, the time has certainly flown by. I look forward to watching my daughter venture through this next part of her life. I'm blessed to be her mom and be a part of her journey.
